The pulse oximeter does not have a memory function and does not save your last reading. It will give you a reading as long as you have your finger inside the finger chamber. Once you take your finger out, the pulse oximeter will turn off after 10 seconds. Since it does not record data, it is not meant to be used overnight or during sleep.
